In 2011, Adeea began to host meetups to meet an overwhelming need for camraderie and education regarding natural hair in her own community. Drawing on her 12+ years of event planning and programming experience, Adeea has successfully hosted meetups for approximately 150 women in the Greenville, NC and surrounding communities.
Adeea is a proud alumna of East Carolina University where she currently works in the Department of Student Involvement and Leadership. Adeea is committed to reinstituting values, style and class many have forgotten. The Trendy Socialite woman has manners, style, grace and elegance. She seeks to influence and encourage other women in all of her interactions–online, in person, through her sorority, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. or through championing the social cause of Domestic Violence Prevention.

Sherita Belle, a Delaware native and resident, graduate of Wilmington University, New Castle Delaware with a Dual Master’s Degree in Public Administration and Human Resource Management. I am currently a Purchasing Supervisor in the public sector. I am the mother of four wonderful sons. I transitioned into liberation 17 months ago from chemicals. I am embracing myself and I love being me. I enjoy exercising and eating healthy foods. I also enjoy the openness of many of the naturals that I meet. Outgoing, optimistic and open-minded would describe some of my characteristics. My foundation is built from the Great Jehovah and faith sustains me. Quintella Bester is originally from Indianapolis but moved to St. Louis 8 years ago to aid her mother in caring for her father. Quintella loves to travel, especially to South America. LA Curly Girls was originally created by Lydia Boyd aka SisterBoyd on YouTube and the hair forums. Lydia began the LA Curly Girl Meet Up Group in Los Angeles, CA in 2010. The meet ups were created for the natural, curly ladies of Los Angeles to come together for a fun time chatting over good food and wonderful products. The meet ups focus on empowering curlies to embrace their curls through a spirit of sisterhood. SisterBoyd has been natural since 2008 and has enjoyed seeing the transition of her curls. She has fallen in love with the beauty that she was originally created with. In addition to heading up LA Curly Girls, Lydia is a certified lactation educator and board chair of Soul Food for Your Baby (SFYB). SFYB strives to revive the art of breastfeeding within the African American community. Not only does Lydia work to empower women to embrace their curls, but to see the ultimate power and beauty they hold within themselves.
Farah Etienne a.k.a Faeluv25 on Youtube, helped to create Naturals in the Sun™ as a support system for those who embrace their natural hair in the South Florida area. Though regular meet-ups, social events, and community service Faeluv25 and Naturals in the Sun™ are promoting camaraderie amongst naturals regardless of texture or length of time being natural.
Jiquay Glenn discovered the natural hair community last year and fell in love with it. She immediately submerged herself in “all things natural,” and hasn’t looked back since. April McKisick is from Forrest City, Arkansas and has an intense passion for education, wellness and natural hair. After working in higher education for several years, she completed her MBA from University of Maryland University College (UMUC) in 2011. Kini Slaughter is a proud native of Atlanta, Georgia. She received her Masters in Flute Performance from Georgia State University. She is a burgeoning businesswoman preparing for her imminent company launch. She is the owner of Variety Curls Apparel, a graphic t-shirt collection that seeks to provide socially- conscious messages and promote self- esteem specifically for wavy, curly, coily and kinky- haired individuals. She organized and co-hosted the Atlanta NNHMD event in May 2012. Most recently she has worked closely with Darcy’s Botanicals as a natural hair consultant . Marci Toliver is the creator and developer of Coily Encounters, and can be found socially, on her Youtube channel through Coily Encounters and Twitter. Sakeya Wilkins currently resides in Raleigh, NC where she is the Staffing and Operations Supervisor of an 8M Victoria’s Secret store. The mother of two teenage daughters 13 and 16, she began her college education at North Carolina State University in Textile Management attended for 3 years and mere hours from completing her BA degree in Psychology from Meredith College. Sakeya’s natural journey began November 26, 2012, which she states was the “best decision I have ever made in my life.” While transitioning, she learned so much about herself she has felt compelled to share her journey with anyone who asks.
